This unique platform regroups 22,000 Members within 500 Clubs in 90 countries worldwide, with approximately 80 new Clubs in the pipeline.

Skål offers a network of various Tourism business sectors for our members to conduct “Business Among Friends”, a “think tank” on subjects of concern, promotes Eco Tourism Initiatives, supports the UN Environment Program, provides support to our Members at the International Tourism Trade Fairs, sustain its social obligations towards the Community, and more.

Skål Mauritius, which forms part of the Skål Asia Region, was created in 1991, has currently 91 Members in Mauritius Island and 22 Members in Rodrigues Island.

Skal Mauritius is very active on the local, regional and international front.

Skal Mauritius hosted the Skal Asian Area Congress in 2006, and managed to reach a large number of Asian Clubs as well as our World President. This initiative helped to bring awareness to the country at the difficult times of the chikungunya crisis.

We invited a World expert on Risk Prevention & Crisis Management in the Tourism Industry,Mr. Bert Van Walbeek to conduct seminars on this subject. The attendance was beyond our expectations, a large cross section of the Public and Private Sectors, including the Minister of Tourism, various officials from several Authorities, and numerous stakeholders of the Tourism Industry.

Skal is very often solicited for various social and humanitarian causes. Skal Mauritius is very involved with Community Activities and we make financial contributions to various NGO`s who work towards alleviation of poverty in Mauritius, Education and employability in the Tourism Sector, Environment friendly initiatives, AIDS, and others.

Skal Mauritius has sponsored La Vanille Reserve des Mascareignes with the Francois Leguat Project which was submitted for the Skal International Eco Tourism Award scheme in 2008

The Project came 4th out of 22 entries with a close 6 points difference from the winner. The project had also been submitted in 2009
